Apple has introduced the iPhone Duo, its first foldable, starting at $1,999. It pairs a 7.6-inch inner display with a 5.4-inch cover screen when folded, and supports the Apple Pencil.
Inside sits the A20 Pro built on a 2-nanometer process β reinforcing Appleβs strategy of running AI workloads on the device rather than on servers. It is also the first major launch under new CEO John Ternus, and Appleβs answer to Samsung and Huaweiβs lead in foldables.
For corporate buyers, foldables are becoming a plausible two-in-one: a phone for mobility and a wide screen for reviewing documents in the field. The deciding factor is no longer display technology but hinge durability and repair costs.
